Ashton Classic 898 Cigar Review
Cigar Reviews review www.cigarobsession.com Ashton Classic 898 This 6.5×44 stick offers a light tan wrapper with small veins and a thin slightly soft wrapper. The flavor profile was very complex with changes happening every few minutes to the band point. Total burn time tot he band was 1 where it got a little warm for my taste but still had a good inch left. Flavors included earth, leather, cinnamon, spice, pepper, cocoa, coffee, mocha and creme in various combinations as the stick burned down. Overall the body was medium, with touches on either side growing as it burned. Draw also changed significantly, from very firm to just on the loose side with the perfect resistance by the 1/2 way point. Thank you very much to Ashton Cigars for generously sending this sample for review! Photography by BG Pictures.
Casa Magna Colorado Robusto Cigar Review
www.SmokingHotCigarChick.com In this video I’m enjoying Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year for 2008. This is the Casa Magna Colorado Robusto. It’s a very tasty medium-bodied smoke. It’s peppery and earthy with some sweet caramel notes and a hint of coffee. Size is 5.5 inches x 52 gauge. Wrapper, binder and filler are all Nicaraguan, so it’s a “puro.” Many people think this cigar came out of nowhere to top Cigar Aficionado’s list last year but the reality is, this smoke was designed and made by Manuel Quesada and Nestor Plasencia. Both are pretty heavy hitters in the cigar world. Mr Quesada is head of Matasa, makers of Fonseca and Cubita brands in the Dominican Republic. The Quesada family has been involved in tobacco since the 19th century in Cuba. Mr Plasencia is one of the largest growers of fine tobacco in the world and makes cigars in Honduras and Nicaragua. It’s not a surprise that these gentleman would craft such a fine cigar. What is surprising is the price point about .50 US. That price is what I believe contributed to the frenzy surrounding this cigar earlier this year. The past few years, Cigar Aficionado has picked either -25 cigars or Cubans for the coveted prize, thus excluding many casual smokers. But at only .50, who wouldn’t be eager to try it? Now that I’m seeing more Casa Magnas in cigar shops, I thought it was time to review it. Go out and get one. Check my blog for some more details about this cigar. As always, ladies, I encourage you to try a …

Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Torpedo Cigar Review
Cigar reviews Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Torpedo Cigar Review cigarobsession.com http This 6.25 by 52 maduro stick offers a virtually seamless satin wrapper with some small veins showing in darkened color only. Overall a dark chocolate color it gives off a rich oily slightly sweet tobacco aroma. First light reveals a full palate o complex flavors, requiring multiple draws to fully experience. They included deep earth, sweetness, smooth tobacco, nuts, slight pepper, cocoa, coffee and cream. The first third develops to a solid medium body, with tons of very smooth rich smoke output and a very easy draw. Flavors remain complex and very creamy in texture. By the 2nd third flavors had become more of the creamy cocoa, with undertones of a caramel and a deep oily finish. Ending at the 1:10 min mark, the stick proved to be the same flavor wise through the remainder, which was just fine with me! Thank you very much to Michael Yamashita for sending this sample in for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

Looks sad, but in reality, he probably isn’t. Cigar was an outside cat but he is an inside cat now. Cigar used to live across the street and was an outdoor cat. Since living with us he became an inside cat. Cigar got out of the house once, but all he did was sit outside our family room window and look inside!
